Baltimore County Police have obtained a warrant for Steven Lee Blankenship, 27, for several robberies. Police believe he frequents the Dundalk area of Baltimore County and also Harford County.

Blankenship is described as  5'8" tall, approximately 180 pounds with green eyes and light brown or blond hair. He is charged with the burglary of the Royal Farms store located in the 600-block of Southwick Drive. Police say it happened Jan. 18 at approximately 2:56 a.m. Police say Blankenship took a large quantity of cigarettes.

On Jan. 28, police issued a media release looking for the suspect of several smash and grab burglaries. Detectives received a telephone call from a viewer who identified the suspect as Blankenship. As part of their investigation, detectives were able to link Blankenship to the Royal Farms store burglary. He is also suspected in other burglaries within and outside of Baltimore County.

Anyone with information about these crimes or the whereabouts of Steven Blankenship is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587). Baltimore County Police have issued an alert for a burglar who has struck in Pikesville and Whitemarsh since September 2009.

Baltimore County Police are searching for a cat burglar who has struck in the White Marsh and Parkville areas several times since September 2009. Although there are close similarities in appearance, detectives do not believe it is the same burglar who was entering homes in the Essex area in the past few months based on investigative information they have obtained. The victims describe the suspect as a light-skinned black male, with a medium to large build, 18-25 years old, approximately 5’11” tall. One of the victims was able to provide a sketch of the suspect.

* Always carry a keychain pepper spray on your car keys and carry them in your hand until you are in the store, then put them in your bag.
* When you stop your car and park, do not sit around messing with your phone or putting makeup on.  This gives a mugger a lot more time to get in your car and rob you.
* Walk with a purpose as you go in to the store and always look around you.  Keep an eye on your surroundings.
* If you feel like something is just not right, trust your judgment.
* Never leave your purse, cell phone, IPod or any valuables in the car in plain sight.  Don't make it easy for thieves to break in and steal your identity and home address.  This is an easy target for later on.
* Always lock your car.

Like I said, this is all pretty much common sense every day steps that can and should be taken by you.  If you do this, you can effectively reduce the chances of you becoming a victim during the holiday season.

An alarming trend is happening in Baltimore City. There has been a spike in sexual assaults. Now Police have some surprising advice.  Andrea Fujii (of WJZ - Baltimore) reports police are not taking any chances. Police are telling woman don't go out after midnight if possible. Police still don't know who is responsible for the rapes and they don't know how many men are involved. Police are on edge hoping to prevent the rapes.

Women in East Baltimore are being warned--at least two rapists are targeting the area.

I will continue to bring this type of warning to my followers.  Women need to be prepared.  I would first like to say that you should not go out alone late at night.  You should always have a companion, but if that is not possible, you must be prepared to protect yourself.
